Incorrect use of AdBlue can cause serious damage to your tractor, or other vehicle. See the tips below to help you avoid this and get the most from your machinery when filling from small containers.
1). Ensure the resevoir cap is in place before filling the machine with diesel. Even a few drops of diesel in the AdBlue can cause serious damage to the system.
2). Only use a transfer pump specially designed for transferring AdBlue.
3). Do not use any other containers as contamination can be caused if the AdBlue is in contact with:
– Metal other than stainless steel
– Plastic drums, jugs, buckets etc including polypropylene (other than the designated containers).
4). Do not use any other hoses (specifically not rubber as this will cause instant damage).
5). Ensure reservoir cap is replaced immediately after filling to avoid contamination.
6). AdBlue will freeze at approximately -12 degrees Celsius, however this won’t in anyway damage it and would be fit for purpose. However damage to AdBlue can be caused if subjected to prolonged temperatures of +38 degrees Celsius.
7). Do not be tempted to water down AdBlue as this will cause serious damage to the AdBlue system (AdBlue is manufactured with de-ionised water and urea).
8). Fitting of after-market chips and engine enhancements to reduce AdBlue consumption, not only affects the engine manufactures agreed exhaust emissions, but will cause serious damage to the AdBlue system, resulting in extensive and expensive repairs.
