We are delighted and proud to announce that Tuffa UK General Manager, James Shenton, will be running this year’s Virgin Money London Marathon to raise money for Sense, the charity supporting deafblind children.

The Virgin Money London Marathon takes place on Sunday April 28th. The runners start in Blackheath covering the 26.2 mile course around the River Thames, before finishing on The Mall at St James’ Park.

James told us how he came to be taking part. “I’ve run a couple of half marathons and the London Marathon is something I’ve always wanted to do,” he said. “It’s a fantastic challenge and an opportunity to raise money for a great charity, so I’m really looking forward to it.”

The London Marathon fundraising will break through the £1 billion mark in 2019, and James’s personal target is to raise £2,000 for Sense. “I really wanted to help a children’s charity and I’m excited to be running for Sense to raise money to support the incredible work they do for deafblind children and their families,” he said.

You can support James and Sense by visiting his Virgin Money Giving page here to make a donation. It doesn’t matter how much you give – let’s help James to raise £2,000 – every small donation makes a big difference to deafblind children.

Keep on running

James is now 3 weeks into his 13 week training schedule. He is running 4-5 miles 3 or 4 times a week at a fast pace, before dropping the pace and increasing the distance on his weekend runs. He is aiming to gradually increase the distances before the event to prepare for the 26 mile Marathon at the end of April.

We’ll keep you updated of his progress and let you know how his fund raising is going. In the meantime, keep on running, James, and the very best of luck from everybody at Tuffa UK.
